Personal Thoughts: Taira is one of the bigger "maybe"'s for me in wrestling. The amount of TAIRA footage we have is criminally lacking, but everything we do have is pretty damn great. He's an excellent grappler, able to blend shoot grappling with llaves seamlessly, and his striking is incredible. After his second stint in Mexico for the entirety of 2005, he returned to Japan as a much more capable high-flyer as well. Nowadays, that part of his style has definitely taken the backseat to his grappling, but he's still an amazing wrestler. One day we'll have more Taira footage, and when that day comes, we might need to talk about him as one of the best indie juniors of his era.
